I enjoy framing and solving ambiguous problems. That's where I found my superpower in design.

Where I'm from

I grew up in a small town in China. When I was 12, I wanted to be a journalist, to report truth. So I got a degree in Communication. In school, I studied multimedia programming and loved how visuals tell stories. Then I got another degree in Interaction Design. That's how I found my path.

What I used to do

During my time in university, I spent two summers selling books door-to-door in Canada, working 70 hours a week (yep, pretty intense). That job paid for most of my tuition and taught me to work hard, play hard. My first job out of school was designing at a design agency. I then spent a few years in agency and enterprise in-house teams before transitioning into the tech world.

What I do now

Today I’m designing at DoorDash. Previously, I worked at Brex (talked to 50+ customers in a year for UXR) and Airwallex (joined as the 5th designer and helped scale the team to 20+).

Where I'm at now

I live in Vancouver, Canada. I've lived in Shanghai, Toronto, and Singapore over the past 10 years. Outside of work, I find deep joy in nature and reading. If I wasn't a designer, I'd be a writer in Chinese. It connects me to my roots.

What I'm looking for

Teams with heart. Work with meaning. I’m drawn to things that feel like they matter.

Thanks for reading.
